"...You might also be interested to know that Ender's Shadow occasioned
something of a remarkable afternoon for my girlfriend Laura and I. We sat
in Prospect Park in Brooklyn last week, me reading Shadow and her reading
Ender's Game for the first time, and on more than one occasion she would
tell me where she was in her book, and it would be very close to where I
was in mine. We both felt something startlingly intimate reading about the
same events at the same time, as if we were each viewing the action
simultaneously through separate windows. Thank you for the experience.

In a recent letter, Jon Lipitz pointed out that Orson Scott Card has finally arrived:
"...While doing the New York Times Crossword puzzle that was printed in my local paper today (The Baltimore Sun) clue 35 across was "sci-fi writer Card" (5 letters).
Maybe winning multiple Hugo and Nebula awards might have you feel that you have solidified your mark on the world, but I always felt that success came when you were a clue in the New York Times Crossword puzzle, so congrats!"
